Legacy of the Beast is a ‘demake’ of the game for Atari 2600 by Icelandic coder, Michael Christophersson, who says “Written entirely in 6502 Assembly, the intention was to deconstruct yet remain as faithful to the original as technically possible given the capabilities of a system originally released in 1977.”

Intellivision version

The Intellivision demake is being coded by skywaffle from the AtariAge forums.

Both versions are curently work-in-progress but can be downloaded in their current state. Legacy of the Beast for the Atari 2600 is here, and the Intellivision Beast is here.
