“Speak and Spell was an educational toy created by Texas Instruments, which allowed the user to play a variety of speech enable word games. Additional games could be played on the system by purchasing additional ROM cartridges, known as ‘modules’. We think this makes it the first handheld games consile with ROM cartrudges.
