Eric Scrivner has created a game inspired by River Raid called River Run for Panic’s handheld, Playdate.
River Raid is a classic vertical-scrolling shooter developed by Carol Shaw and published by Activision in 1982 for the Atari 2600. Players control a fighter jet navigating through a river canyon filled with enemy helicopters, jets, and ships, while avoiding obstacles and managing fuel.
River Run is described thus:
One day the river simply appeared. Seemingly infinite and coveted by every nation. Take the role of a runner and make it as far upstream as you can while avoiding all who would stop you. Watch for enemies, utilize advanced technologies, and keep an eye on your fuel gauge.
