The Acorn Electron is a home computer designed by Acorn Computers Ltd. The computer was released in August 1983 in Europe at a retail price of £175. The computer was not released outside of Europe. The Electron was a budget version of the BBC Micro educational/home computer, and for a short period, the Electron was reportedly the best selling micro in the United Kingdom. The computer was manufactured until an unspecified time in 1985.
