Game: Haunted Maze

Haunted Maze is a 3D-maze game, where your hero has to go around a maze avoiding zombie-looking-monsters, and picking up what looks like giant Lucky Charms.
You can control your character using the D-Pad or analogue controls (which makes it a lot easier to control) and use R2/R2 to change the camera angles. The zombies are fairly unintelligent at first and in the most part wander around aimlessly, though their monochrome design and dog-like growls certainly add to the scare factor.
If you manage to avoid the zombies and collect all the charms, the exit opens and you move on to the next level. As you progress, the zombies increase in number and get a little better at honing in on you.
The game is fast, and much of the time is spent trying to shake off the zombies by leading them on a merry dance. Like many Net Yaroze games, Haunted Maze is simple, but it’s also great fun and stands up to repeat play.
Legacy
Federmeyer appears to have updated Haunted Maze for the iPhone in 2017 – the premise is basically the same, but the Lucky Charms have been replaced by pumpkins. Controlling the character is a bit fiddly though.
The game still appears to have many fans, and an unofficial port has recently turned up on itch.io
