Game: Super Bub Contest
By: Alex Herbert
Genre: Puzzle
Available on Euro Demos: 43, 81, 77, 108
Super Bub Contest (sometimes just referred to as Super Bub) is a game that falls in to the genre known as throw-coloured-bubbles-up-and-get-matching-ones-to-disappear-thus-causing-a-bit-of-chaos-on-your-opponent’s-side.
Choose from a quartet of characters: Bobo (a pig), Grizz (a lion), Chump (a frog-thing), and Jasper (a ghost) and throw coloured bubbles up in the air. Hit a coloured bubble with its matching coloured fire ball, and all connected bubbles of the same colour will disappear, and turn up on your opponents side.
If you like Puzzle Bobble, Super Puzzle Fighter or Baku Baku, then this will be right up your street. It’s polished and a lot of fun, especially with a second player.
Net Yaroze Month rankings:
Super Bub Contest is pretty polished and enjoyable. So far, all three games I’ve played so far have been really fun!
