If you had a ZX Spectrum in the eighties you almost certainly would have owned a game by Ultimate Play the Game. Pssst! is one of Ultimate’s lesser known titles. It doesn’t get mentioned in the same tones reserved for the likes of JetPac or AticAtac.
Pssst! is a Playstation port of the ZX Spectrum game of the same name. You play Robbie Robot, and your aim is to protect a big plant from creepy crawlies by spraying them with various cans of insect-repellent. Different sprays will have different effects on the bugs.
Considering the original game could be run on a 16K Speccy, you’re not getting a lot extra considering the additional heft of a PlayStation. Fun for fans of the original game but with possible limited appeal for others.
Gary Gould had already converted Pssst! to AGA Amiga‘s back in 1995, so he’s obviously a big fan of the game. Gould also made a pretty awesome adventure game for the Amiga called Crystal Skull.
